Similar to http://rageweb.info/2015/03/01/brocade-notes/ , I bought a new Juniper switch (EX2200-48T-4G) and have NO idea what i’m doing. So he’s some notes. This is mostly pulled from https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1729053-juniper-ex2200-logging-into-web-interface
This switch uses the cisco type RJ45 cable. I bought a USB one, and put it to Windows 10. Drivers took a bit of “scan for updates”, but generally worked. Tera Term is my program of choice for connecting since Win10 doesn’t have Hyper Terminal.
which, luckily, worked.
set system root-authentication plain-text-password
New Password: password
Retype new password: password
set system host-name "switchHostname"
set system services ssh
set system services ssh root-login allow
set system services web-management http
set interfaces me0 unit 0 family inet address 10.30.1.99/24
set routing-options static route 0.0.0.0/0 next-hop 10.30.1.254
request system configuration rescue save
At this point we need to configure some interfaces.
set interfaces ge-0/0/0 unit 0 family inet address 192.168.1.3
set interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 family inet address 192.168.1.4
set interfaces ge-0/0/2 unit 0 family inet address 192.168.1.5
delete interfaces ge-0/0/0 unit 0 family ethernet-switching
delete interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 family ethernet-switching
delete interfaces ge-0/0/2 unit 0 family ethernet-switching
Configure SSH to respond to those ports.
set interfaces me0 unit 0 family inet address 192.168.1.1
set routing-options static route 0.0.0.0/0 next-hop 192.168.1.1
request system power-off
