How I Set Up my Raspberry PI: Kali

I like Kali on my pi, why? Because I like security stuff.

So how do I do my Kali?  Well, to start off, Kali for RaspiberryPI 1.0.5 is broken, the wifi doesn’t work.  So Kali 1.0.0 is your best bet.

  1. Typical apt-get cycle to get everything up to date
    1. apt-get update
    2. apt-get upgrade
    3.  apt-get dist-upgrade
    4. apt-get clean
    5. apt-get autoremove
  2. Remove bad/old SSH keys per instructions
    1. rm /etc/ssh/ssh_host_*
    2.  dpkg-reconfigure openssh-server
  3. Install rapi-config
  4. Update wifite
    1. Not sure why, but kali hasn’t kept up on this.
    2. wget
    3. chmod +x
    4. mv /usr/bin/wifite
  5. Install NTP
    1. apt-get install ntp
    2. edit /etc/timezone -> America/New_York
    3. update-rc.d -f ntp remove
    4. update-rc.d ntp defaults
    5. ntpd -q
